Idiopathic generalized anhidrosis: a feature of panautonomic failure.

چکیده
FDE characteristically occurs each time the offending drug is administrated, although the number of involved sites may increase. The pathogenesis of the disease is still obscure. It seems that a large homogenous population of CD8 (+) T cells are distributed along the epidermal basal layer in FDE and have the capacity to produce large amounts of IFNgamma. These cells are likely to play a significant role in FDE lesions.[2]

Investigation of antimuscarinic receptor autoantibodies in patients with acquired idiopathic generalized anhidrosis.
OBJECTIVE The autoimmune mechanism is considered to play an important role in the development of acquired idiopathic generalized anhidrosis (AIGA), and muscarinic M3 receptors (M3Rs) on eccrine glands are possible autoimmune targets. We investigated the existence of autoantibodies against M3Rs in AIGA patients. METHODS We immunostained M3R-expressing cultured cells with the serum of 12 AIGA p...

BACKGROUND Diffuse alopecia areata or canities subita is a rare variant of alopecia in which hair loss is associated with regrowth of white hairs and possible lightening of the skin. Preferential loss of pigmented hair in this disorder may be related to the melanin pigment system and/or melanocytes. Acquired generalized anhidrosis can be associated with autoimmune disease, cancer, graft-vs-host...

Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis is a rare genetic disorder of peripheral nervous system characterised by recurrent episode of unexplained fever, generalized anhidrosis, insensitivity to pain and temperature and self mutilating behavior. We are presenting a eight year old female with CIPA who have pus discharge and pathological fracture of anterior mandible .Sural nerve biopsy r...
متن کاملChronic idiopathic anhydrosis--a rare cause of heat stroke.
A 27 year old man presented with heat stroke following exposure to a humid, hot environment in the absence of physical exertion. Investigation revealed the presence of generalized anhydrosis without evidence of an associated disease. Although chronic idiopathic anhydrosis is rare, this entity should be considered in cases of unexplained heat intolerance and heat stroke.
متن کاملAutonomic Function Tests: Some Clinical Applications
Modern autonomic function tests can non-invasively evaluate the severity and distribution of autonomic failure. They have sufficient sensitivity to detect even subclinical dysautonomia. Standard laboratory testing evaluates cardiovagal, sudomotor and adrenergic autonomic functions. Cardiovagal function is typically evaluated by testing heart rate response to deep breathing at a defined rate and...
